Tip of the week: public speaking

Public speaking is a universally desired skill that will help your career. Most people never develop it. People are afraid to stand in front of a crowd and give a talk. They will go to great lengths to avoid this. Having this skill is a competitive advantage.

It is possible for people to become effective speakers.

Two good ways: (1) join Toastmasters; (2) teach Sunday School.

Once you are a better speaker, have a go to speech that you can give on a specific topic.  Teach a class on it at your work.

Want to see a master of this skill? Watch this elderly lady in action, 30 year Mayor of the city of Mississauga, Hazel McCallion.
